I suppose its only fitting that I write this blog.
I went to see Disney's version of a Christmas Carol and had some mixed thoughts about it. If anybody has read Dicken's classic, then you can agree it is indeed, a classic.
Oh, I think I should mention that we saw this in 3-D. Now, normally anything 3 dimensional is superior to everything else but when it jacks the ticket prices up to almost 12 bucks then I question its motives. Honestly, it's so righteous in 3-D so don't be a cheapskate (talking to me mostly) and view this movie with those awesome black glasses on your face!!
OK, so the effects and graphics are INCREDIBLE!!!!!! Really the best I"ve seen in any animated movie. I seriously couldn't believe the intricate detail in every scene and wonder how long it took them to make this movie.
However, that's really the best part of the movie.
I suppose I was expecting a sort of Muppet Christmas Carol deal so naturally I thought that this was going to be a lighthearted Christmas affair but really it was dark and a little depressing. It did stay close to the book though and that was pretty cool. I'm not quite sure anything other than a new appreciation for the wonders of movie magic will be gained from this movie but I do think it's a nice way to kick off the holiday season. I'd only count this a one time view but since the animation is so stupendous, I might see it again.
If you couldn't tell by my oh so eloquent writing, I'm not much of a movie reviewer but all in all, I'd give this movie a solid B+
Psalm 27:4: The one thing I ask of the Lord—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life...

LONG overdue
WOWZERS!!!! (never used that word before)
It's been a good while since this blog has seen any action
For good reason though which I'll explain later.
If you've read this blog before then you might notice a pattern. I'll update at a fever pace, get busy, and then like a jerk, ignore this blog. When you least expect it, I'll come out with a massive update blog.
This is one of those
I'm not even sure where to start so I guess I'll just start typing and see what comes up.
As I type this, it's about midnight. Where am I at? Glad you asked!!
I'd be in the room I'm sharing with Jamison at our rental home for the next 4 months. A little while ago, I posted about my parents selling the house we've lived in for almost 20 years. Well since that time, we've gotten all settled into our temporary place. Honestly, my concerns and objections were way off base. I've found myself in a place of peace about everything! This move was needed..for my parents, for their future, for our future as a family. We are believing that this house will be done in a quicker time then the predictions. It definitely has been an adjustment for everybody but my family is so incredible and there is a vast amount of love and peace around us that WHERE we are staying is irrelevant to WHO we are with.
It's cool to see this growing season stretch us together as a family.
School really has been incredible this semester. As the semester comes to a close soon, I am so thankful for where I am at. I love my major more and more each day and am so pumped for next semester. Graduation is really within reach and I'm excited about where the Lord is going to place me.
Honestly, the past few years have been a whirlwind of turmoil surrounding my future. Where am I going? Who am I going to be? How am I going to get there? How is it all going to work out?
Really it came down to the Lord's faithfulness and the fact that we can take Him at His word.
His word always comes to past (Isaiah 55:11) and when my Heavenly Father tells me, "For I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11) Then I'm going to live in the peace of His will for my life! I don't have to figure it out on my own and I'm not. The doors will be open and favor surrounds my life.
As a church, the first 3 weeks of November were set aside for a corporate fast. We are believing for BIG things in 2010!!!
I initially decided to fast all computer stuff except for school work. I found that was not all the Lord wanted from me. Only 3 days in, I gave up all TV too. And the Lord blew up my world!!!!!!
It's saddened me to think about all the times that I had been distracted, yet my spirit was thirsty for time with God. This fast shook off my distractions and shot me into a new season!! When our focus is solely on God and our hearts are postured towards His throne, then we become tender and softened to the whisper of His voice.
As humans, our nature is instant gratification. However, time must be invested with the Lord. Like any relationship, there must be trust and time sown to reveal your heart intimately and I've finally learned this in a personal way.
No time is ever wasted with God.
Really it's unbelievable to think about how fast this year has gone...or better yet, to think about where I was this time last year. SO much growth, transition, healing, focus, perspective, and cleansing for me.
It's always cool to take a step back and reflect on how far God has brought you. In some aspects, I am still amazed at how He continues to move in the relationships in my life. Recently, certain new people have been added and other friendships have been strengthened. I'm constantly aware of just how blessed I am. Friends with no strings attached and no qualifications required...it rocks!!!
All in all, this year has been one of the most impactful, life changing years in the 22 I've been living.
That's about all I got for now, friends.
Hope everybody has a great start to the holiday season!!! I'll try to update this bad boy on a more regular basis because I'm sure everybody is dying to read my thoughts via the internet.
Thanks for reading this if you did in fact, read the whole thing. always appreciated!!
