Things o' Jacob part 1

So I think the next round of posts are going to be about the things that I take great interest in. Stay tuned because its going to be excellent. And the name of the entries will indeed be titled Things o' Jacob.....I think its cool when you strategically leave out letters in words
Anyway, the first installment is going to be about my guitar. Let me explain my journey into the vast world of this wonderful wooden instrument o' strings (I just did it again)

The story begins with me as a young whippersnapper (19 years old) and I decide one day that I want to play the guitar.........uh, that's about it (cool story)
There's a little more I guess...
I get a guitar Christmas of 2006, called the "Talent" by Gibson. My parents bought it for 99 dollars at Bed, Bath and Beyond of all places. Seriously, of ALL places
If you refer to how much it cost, and obviously where they got it, that will give you a little insight to the quality of it. So I take it back to school after that Christmas break and start on my quest.
I want to take a time-out right here to thank Mr. Justin Coaxum for putting up with the "music" that was coming out of that thing.
Anyway, I can say from experience, being in a dorm room and trying to learn the guitar is not the best of combinations. Most of the people on the floor in my dorm could hear everything and were definitely not against giving me their opinion of my "skills". That guitar got me through the early times of playing though and I think in the end that thing had been dropped, kicked, beaten, and had many coco puffs dropped into it. (coaxum) I also want to thank my brother Justin for many a time talking me out of throwing that guitar out the window. Fond Memories!!! Funny that my youngest brother Jared started using it when he started playing. The Talent will live forever!!!!

In July of 2007, I saved up and bought a new guitar. That little beauty can be seen right above the post. It normally would have run me about 5 hundy but I got it at $375. So all in all, 2 1/2 years later I finally would consider myself somewhat competent at playing lol. I love playing it though because it's a dandy little challenge learning new things. It has actually turned into a pretty awesome thing because Justin is awesome at playing and can sing, I play and now Jared has started playing (and is seriously crazy good after only a few months). Jamison is already dynamite on the drums so instead of the Jonas brothers..................The Glonas Brothers!!!!! hmmm maybe not
