Check it out..Old Man Marley

"I'll give you ten seconds to get your ugly, yella, no good keister off my property before I pump your guts full of lead."
Classic line from a classic movie
I think it might be safe to say that I've seen Home Alone more times than any other movie ever made.
I used to be able to quote it line for line (that's sad and embarrassing)
For that very reason it deserves a blog post. (and I deserve some sort of commemorative plaque)
My grandparents had the original Home Alone on VHS (remember those) and regardless of the time of year, it was a guarantee that whenever we would be over at their house we would watch it. (more than once on many occasion)
It went something like this.....
*March-HOME ALONE!!!!!
*Middle of August-HOME ALONE!!!!
*January 17th-HOME ALONE!!!!
and because of this I'm sure it's pretty much safe to say that my grandparents have also seen Home Alone more times than any other movie (or the old school Willy Wonka movie...I never liked that boat ride scene though..seriously, why put that in there??)

Anyway, Home Alone is an all-around, all-american classic from the very beginning of the movie when everybody is going nuts trying to get packed for the trip to France to the very end when Buzz realizes Kevin destroyed his room.

Random Fact: Jamison got a Kevin Mcallister pull-string action figure doll for Christmas one year...Pull the string and Home Alone quotes comes out of Kevin's head. It was awesome

That movie will be a classic forever and think about it, what other Christmas movie could come out with a sequel of equal exceptionality? (I'm pretty sure that's a word)
The whole premise of the movie was outrageous and equally outrageous was how Kevin took advantage of it (I wish my life had writers)
From sledding down the stairs (I tried that down the stairs of our deck one time and almost broke my legs) to going shopping for food by himself (I can't even do that right now) to rigging his house full of traps!!! C'MON!!!

It is a very unfortunate fact that this festive series of movies received a swift kick to the throat when even more movies were added unnecessarily.....I rate them below

Home Alone..awesome
Home Alone 2...double awesome
Home Alone 3...absolutely terrible
Home Alone 4...worst movie in cinematic history

I will leave you now with a montage (I've never used that word) of all the slapstick hilarity Marv and Harry provide

"Keep the change ya filthy animal"

  1. I completely agree with you. Home Alone 1 & 2 were the best, and all the others weren't that good. And we own them on VHS, and we still watch them. Rock on Home Alone!
