Things o' Jacob part 2

OK, so this is the second installment of the critically acclaimed (my mom thought the first one was funny) series "Things o' Jacob"...I've found it really challenging to come up with a new thing to talk about (I guess I'm not that interesting) so this could possibly be the last installment (don't be sad)
Maybe I'll just hit on a few things that I take interest in and be done with the pressure...I'm ranting about this and I don't know why...
OK, here goes...

I am a fan of dogs. How can you not love an animal that loves you no matter what. It's love in its purest form and that to me is exceptional. If people loved each other like dogs love us, then this world would be amazingly different. I'm pretty sure there is nobody that would dispute that fact and if they do I will fight them (no I won't)

I am a fan of stick-shift trucks..in particular Nissan trucks. All through high school I drove a 1990 Nissan pickup truck (the white demon). That truck was insane. I could literally drive about 4 months without filling up the gas tank and when I did have to fill up, it only would cost me like 3 bucks for a full tank. And on top of that, it was a stick-shift which made it fun to drive (except in neighborhoods or traffic jams). There is a business my dad delivers packages to and the owner might possibly sell me his 1997 Nissan pickup..same truck...a little more modern...might possibly have air conditioning and power windows..and steering for the matter...that would be nice...

I am definitely a fan of girls who have values and respect for themselves. It is refreshing and encouraging to me to see a young woman with integrity and respect for herself...a woman that loves and follows the Lord and has an undivided desire and heart for the things of God. It would be pretty safe to say that is the number one quality I am looking for.

I am a fan of family. Yes, if you read my first post you can tell my family is down right awesome but who else can you be open, transparent, and real with at anytime? There needs to be people in your life that you can just open your heart to and not fear rejection or mockery. And in some cases, they can give you a swift kick in the butt when you need to get your rear in gear.....I am thankful for that (even though it's humbling)

I am a fan of history. I am indeed a history major but I do not necessarily obsess over knowing everything about everything. Although I enjoy history and could possibly teach it well if that is really what I'm supposed to do with my life, knowing random dates and facts to impress people doesn't make anybody cool.

I am a fan of writing. Obviously, I'm writing right now..I never really found writing to be fun because 99% of the writing I do is for school. Papers, article reviews, chapter summaries, lesson plans are basically the only things I do and really if you think about it, that stuff is boring. I actually like to write about random stuff. Hopefully you guys like reading it.

I am a fan of the guitar. Not necessarily just because I play but just in general. The acoustic guitar is a swell instrument and quite delightful to listen to.

I am a fan of reading. Let me start this by saying I WAS a fan of reading, took a couple years off from reading stuff besides ESPN the Magazine and Sports Illustrated and now I'm back and it's better than ever! I like reading mostly non-fiction stuff though. Either way, reading rocks (that sounds like a poster that could be in an elementary school classroom)

I am a fan of movies in the movie theater. This is a kinda obvious thing..movies in a theater but watching movies on a regular TV is just not the same. Something about actually going to the theater and experiencing the ambiance of it all. The stadium seats...the monster screen...the ridiculous prices...the sticky floors...Plus you get to see the previews which I am also a huge fan of.

I guess its fitting to mention (since I just did like a sentence ago) that I am a fan of movie trailers. Click on the word "trailers" (or movie if you don't want to be told what to do) and check out a website Apple has. Movie trailers are just cool. Definitely a more random interest of mine.

I am a fan of people. I love people. I love to talk to them and just listen. This is not necessarily just strangers with interesting stories but also people in my life. I definitely take great joy in being a person somebody can talk to and not feel like they have to put walls up. I may not have some crazy insightful answer (sometimes I do) but I want to leave people better than when I found them and that's my goal. I really believe that people appreciate somebody who is intently listening and taking great interest in their lives. Be an encourager in all you do!
