I'm sure you all remember the old school Saturday night Nickelodeon....or SNICK (clever)
I can admit that I was pretty much terrified by the show Are You Afraid of the Dark?
That show was ridiculous and I could never watch it without my brothers around (embarrassing)
The intro still kinda creeps me out...(really embarrassing)
Secretly, I wondered what they always threw on the fire in the beginning of the show to make it flare up like that...
It would always be like....
"Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this story...(ominous voice) "The Tale of the new neighbors across the street who exhibit characteristics similar to vampires"......(huh?)
and then they would throw some sort of rice/trail mix/bird seed/gerbil food combo on the fire and it would explode into a ridiculous ball of flames (HAD to be a fire hazard)
I'd say that show was ahead of its time...especially if it still scares me ( I need to stop)
all in all, that was a classic show and a fond memory of the younger years
That show STILL scares me, especially when I'm at a pool by myself, or out hiking at night. I flash back to those stories and I think to myself, "I'm 21! This is ridiculous! Maybe I need more beer!"
